Bug Fix List

Corrections that have been made to the TrayGames client, service and games.  We list corrections here so you can be aware of whether issues you have run into have been corrected.  If you are experiencing a problem and you don't see it listed here, please report it.

Recent Fixes

  • Fixed issue where game icon is not displayed correctly in ChatForm if there are games that are not installed.
  • Fixed issue where Ready/Not Ready buttons appear when they should not.
  • Fixed issue with Add Person button when appearing offline.
  • Fixed updater/game install exception that could occur when installing multiple games simultaineously
  • Fixed exception that could occur during shutdown on Vista
  • Fixed exception that can occur if you have friends selected and a root node selected and user picks "chat to selected friends"
  • Fixed CLR 'jit' compile issues for Vista x64 users
  • Improved notification to people in a multi-person chat when the chat 'owner' leaves and ownership moves to another person
  • Suppressed presence change messages during first 90 seconds of connection, this is to prevent flurries of notices to users with lots of friends when a communication server is restarted
  • Notification to client of profile/avatar changes is now done immediately

Items that were fixed more than a month ago.

  • Fixed a problem with Big Two that could cause games to get 'stuck'.
  • Corrected problem with update system that could prevent some users from downloading games or getting updates.
  • Fixed a chat problem that could cause the recipient to never see messages in some unusual cases.
  • Corrected display problem with the chat in multiple games (Big Two, Chess, Outbreak) that would cause the position of the text to be increasingly off as the length of conversation increased.
  • Fixed issue where you have to "type something" in the chat form after selecting a game so the chat window will pop up.
  • On computers where the task bar is vertical and on the left games had their position shift incorrectly when dragged, fixed.
  • Fixed a crash that would happen on Big Two with four human players.
  • Fixed a crash in Checkers that would happen when a player requested to play again after resigning from the first game.
  • Fixed chat issues around the first player to start a chat group dropping out and nobody having the game selector, fixed "game over" state of chat group after playing a game is done.  Group can now pick another game and play again.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the client to crash on laptops or desktop machines when they are suspended (sleep or close the lid).
  • Fixed a problem that could cause 'find friend' to not return anything.
  • Fixed a problem on computers where some data could not be written to the registry during installation.  On computers with this failure the client could not work correctly, and it could not be updated.  Users suffering from this problem should uninstall and reinstall the client to get this fix.
  • Corrected an issue with crash reporting that caused some error reports to be lost
  • Fixed problem where busy lobbies sometimes failed to reflect status changes to people in them.
  • Added a "remember me" option to allow clean up of personal settings on public shared computers.
  • Fixed issue where emoticons could fail to display in chat.
  • (Backgammon) Fixed inconsistencies in chat display
  • (Big Two) Fixed bug where human players were not able to play low straights (straights where the A or 2 is low)
  • (Big Two) Fixed client crash when four humans were playing
  • Fixed a rare issue that caused a crash during updates
  • Fixed a problem that could cause user status to appear as 'offline' when logging into a second computer caused the login on the first computer to be automatically disconnected.
  • Fixed presence issue where a person appears offline in a chat when the person they are chatting with disconnects/reconnects.
