Using the Friends List

TrayGames makes it easy to find the friends you're looking for, determine their status, and identify games of common interest. Your friends list contains the nick name and status for each of your contacts. Status icons appear to the left of each contact.
By showing you Friends of Friends the TrayGames Network offers you a unique way to branch out and find new players. By default your friends are sorted into the following groups:
Friends - All of your buddies.
Friends of Friends - People who are connected to your friends, but not directly to you. Rather than joining some random strangers on a server you know nothing about, join a game with some friends of friends!
Messenger Friends - Your contacts from the Windows Messenger network.
People You Blocked - People you have chosen to block from contacting you.
Voice Friends - Contacts from the Skype Software running on your computer.
All of these are standard groups built into the TrayGames Manager. User defined, or custom groups, are not yet supported, but will be coming soon. When available you will be able to create and rename groups to suit your needs. You can add new people to your friends list by clicking the Add button. You can remove contacts and accept friendship invitations by using the context menu described at the bottom of this page.
Status Icons
Being able to recognize the status icons beside a contacts nick name is very useful. It's an easy way for your friends to see at a glance what you're doing and if you're available for a conversation or a game. Status is set automatically by the TrayGames Manager, but you may also set it yourself using the Tray icon Change Status menu. Below is a list of icons and their meaning:
Online - This is the default status when you have signed in to TrayGames.
Offline - This means the member is not currently logged in to TrayGames, or has chosen to appear offline.
Away - This status is activated if you are signed in to TrayGames, but have not used your computer for a while.
Be Right Back - The member is telling everyone that they will be back in a minute or so.
Pending - You are part way though forming a friendship with this member, one of you must accept the invite to confirm the friendship.
Playing - The member is online and playing one or more games at the moment.
Ready - The member is ready to play the specified game. When all of the people in your group are ready the game can be launched.
Busy - You can use this status to indicate that you are busy and don't want to be disturbed. You will not receive News popup windows if you have a Busy status.
Blocked - You have blocked this member from contacting you.
Context Menu
The context menu is a popup menu that appears when you click on a person in your friends list or lobby plugin with the right mouse button.
Not all of these items are available all of the time. Some of them depend on how many people are selected, or what the status of the selected person is. For example you can't chat to people who have an offline or pending status.
